If you’re looking for a vacation that doesn’t include wailing children at every tourist attraction, look no further! These tips will help you find that ideal destination, child free!

1. Travel on the “shoulder season,” which is May-June and September-October, when school is in session but the weather is still nice. Fewer families travel during the school year. You may find limited hours for some attractions before Memorial Day and after Labor Day, but you will also find cheaper rates – and fewer families.

2. If weather isn’t an issue, or if you prefer not to travel during the summer months anyway, travel “off season.” Many hotels offer winter and fall packages when they aren’t very busy to attract guests. Avoid booking your vacation when school might be out for winter recess or spring break.

3. Don’t go to typical family destination spots like Disney World and amusement parks if you want to avoid children. If those places are top on your list, then you will have to put up with the kids.

4. Spend the extra cash! In general, child free couples have more money to spend on leisure activities than our parental counterparts. Which means, families are looking for a cheap place to stay. If you want to avoid kids, book ritzier accommodations! Try romantic bed & breakfasts, pricey cruises, and luxury resorts. The adult to children ratio is bound to improve at such places.

5. Find places that offer “Romantic Getaway” packages – they are clearly marketing to adults. You can get some incredible deals that way too. For one price, you can often get a room, dinner, tickets to local attractions – even wine and chocolate in your room!

6. Guarantee a trip without kids – book your next vacation at an “adults only” destination. All guests of Celebrity Cruises must be over 21. Some resorts, like Sandals’ many island locations, do not allow children. The Poconos in Pennsylvania also offers couples-only resorts.
