Bespoke Flat Iron - Product Review

Bespoke Flat Iron - Product Review
For today’s look of straight hair you’ll want it very sleek and very shiny. Not many of us are gifted with that kind of hair naturally. For most it takes a little work and a really good flat iron to achieve the smooth glossy finish.

I tried the Narrow Duality by Bespoke Labs. It proved to be an excellent tool for quickly smoothing out waves and sleeking down frizz. It uses tourmaline technology, producing negative ions to promote healthy hair. I confess that I don’t know what that means or how negative ions are produced or how they affect the health of hair. I prefer a hands on trial.
    What I do know:
  • The iron gets very hot - up to 410 degrees. It has a temperature control so you can adjust the temperature down to cooler temperatures for more fragile hair. My hair requires the hottest setting. By using it, smoothing is fast and easy. As a bonus, my hair does not revert to its natural state even when the humidity is high.
Warning: No matter what the quality of your flat iron, to prevent damaging the structure of your hair, always use a heat or thermal protectant when using a it. These usually come in the form of leave-in conditioners. They are applied to wet hair and left in. The conditioning agents help to protect your hair from the high temperatures of heat styling. Use thermal protectant to avoid dry, damaged hair and breakage.
There are many effective products available. My favorites are:
Bliss by Nioxin. It is a weightless spray, so it’s great for fine hair.
Instant Repair by Pureology. Just a few drops, emulsified in your hands covers your entire head.
  • This iron is easy to use.
It is fast. The Narrow Duality is hot and ready to use in about 60 seconds. It turns on with a touch and a light blinks until it is fully heated.
The ceramic plates slide easily over my hair. I had to get used to this because other flat irons have more ‘grip.’ I feel that this slippage is easier on fragile hair.
  • Versatility:
You can create curls with it as well as straighten. Curls can be created with any narrow flat iron, after a little practice, but the Narrow Duality has ribs on the back of the plates to help guide the hair and keep it in place.
  • Price:

I consider the price to be reasonable for a professional quality flat iron. I have noted prices for this iron ranging from $79.95 (with $10.00 shipping,) online to $149.00 cash and carry to $109 on sale.
