Color Mark - Instant Cover Up for Gray Roots

Roots! Just about anyone who tints their hair has them within two weeks after the application, if not before. The most embarrassing kind of roots are gray. They appear, and often show a lot of contrast with the tinted color. It isn’t always possible or wise to reapply hair color to those pesky roots as soon as they appear. Most of us have to wait at least four weeks and more often five or six. Until the important date of our retouch, we are trying to comb our hair to cover the gray.

I recently tested a product that will help with that problem.

"Color Mark" is an instant liquid hair color in the form of a wand, similar to a mascara wand except with a sponge end instead of the brush. It is formulated to cover gray roots.
  • I used "Color Mark" in the Medium Brown shade.

  • I applied it to an area of a client’s hair that contained a mix of white and dark hair. - About 75 % white to 25 % dark.

  • I started at the base - right next to the scalp - and then brushed it outward to meet the tinted part of the hair. Color Mark comes with small, flat comb that is used to slide into and under the hair to be covered. The comb serves as a barrier between skin and hair color to prevent staining.

  • The white hair was covered instantly and became a rich, very natural brown color.

  • After it dried - about 1 minute - I could brush through the hair and the color stayed in.-no flaking.

  • "Color Mark" washed out easily with shampoo and could be reapplied when the hair was dry.

I have tried other similar products that have not performed as well as "Color Mark." Some other color wands, I’ve observed, gave an only slightly tinted or faded look. Crayons formed an unnatural waxy finish.

So if you are embarrassed by roots showing long before it’s time to retouch, I recommend "Color Mark."
One note; this product is only used to cover gray or white roots. It will not lighten dark roots.
