Biography
Part 1

One day, Marie received a letter from the Mother Superior in Chicago requesting that she take care of a young girl named Jessica Blake. Marie consented and soon after Jessica arrived in Salem, Marie noticed a medallion that Jessica held in her possession which had a letter “A” inscribed on its’ surface. Marie had given this same medallion to her own daughter before placing her for adoption. Jessica was really Alex and Marie’s daughter, Angelique.

Alex remained in the dark about Jessica’s paternity and eventually adopted her. He later found out that she really was his own daughter. In the winter of 1981, Alex and Marie rented a plane to go to Montreal to learn about Jessica’s upbringing. Unbeknownst to them, Kellam Chandler who had a vendetta against Alex had cut the fuel line. The plane crashed in a remote area. Stranded and somewhat lonely, Marie finally admits to Alex that she has always loved him and would do anything to keep them together. They were rescued moments before they made love.

Once home, Alex told Jessica that he was her real father. This led Jessica to become estranged from her mother and closer to her father. Still, she ran away and joined a convent. Marie was convinced that Jessica was in deep emotional trouble and spoke with the Mother Superior who relieved Jessica of her duties.

Marie and Alex had planned to wed. In the meantime, Mary Anderson continued to pursue and seduce Alex. Caught in a precarious position with Mary, Marie became infuriated and left him. A short time later, Alex was shot. Marie was the once who nursed him back to health and eventually left the convent.

Jessica began displaying signs of having multiple personalities: Angel and Sister Angelique. Marie helped her to deal with her feelings of abandonment. She recovered and married Joshua Fallon. Once Alex healed, he began working for Antony DiMera and soon after, returned to work at Anderson. He eventually dumped Marie for Mary.

Marie explored the dating scene as she fell for Dr. Neil Curtis. He didn’t feel the same for her as he had eyes for Liz DiMera (Antony’s wife). After realizing that his feelings for Liz were not being reciprocated, Neil asked Marie to marry him.

After they returned from their honeymoon, they learned that Liz had divorced Tony and baby Noelle was really Neil’s daughter. Neil tried to remain faithful to Marie despite his strong feelings for Liz. Marie became insanely jealous and fought with Liz on numerous occasions. Liz shot Marie leaving her in a coma. She recovered quickly and after finding out that Liz shot her after she and Neil had made love, she and Neil divorced.

Marie never really recovered from multiple male rejections and left Salem a couple of years later to live near Jessica.
