Fitterfirst Functional Office Package

Guest Author - Lori Collvins

Have you been looking for a product that will help you strengthen joints, improve balance and flexibility or rehabilitate an injury? The Functional Office Package offered by Fitterfirst is just what you have been looking for. I have found it useful in a number of ways!

The Ball Chair is not only fun (well I am an adult and I don't get to play with inflatable balls often!) but also very helpful. When we aren't involved in sports, a lot of us are sitting in front of a computer answering email, checking the news or weather, or chatting with friends and family. Others are watching television. Next time you engage in one of these "activities" I recommend you try doing it with a Ball Chair instead of a desk chair or recliner. You only have to use the ball chair a few minutes a day and it will improve your posture and your balance while strengthening your abdominal, back and trunk muscles.

Athletic movement depends on stability and balance and this helps you achieve both! The Ball Chair also comes with an exercise chart that has exercises designed to work the upper body, core/trunk and the lower body. And who said exercising could not be fun? It is with the ball chair! I love my Ball Chair, as a matter of fact, my whole family does. The girls sit on it while watching TV, which is great because they will get the added benefit of good posture while having fun and it has also been good for my back, which occasionally gets a mind of its own and goes on strike. I really think this Ball Chair is going to rid me of most of my back problems!

Also included in the Functional Office Package is a Balance Board and I have to tell you this is my favorite thing! It has two different levels and is very easy to adjust. The Balance Board is a great tool for improving ankle strength, balance and range of motion, which will help prevent injuries during sports activities. Try standing on it while you talk on the phone! My youngest daughter (10) is constantly sitting, standing or kneeling on the Balance Board so I only get to use it when no one else is home.

The last thing that came with my Functional Office Package is the Power Web. I have to admit that when I saw this one, I thought, "Hmmmmmmm, okay, just what am I supposed to do with this?" Well I started by looking at the instructions. I found around 35 different exercises to do with this Power Web! You can even use it to exercise your ankles. It is a good tool to with strength and flexibility and we all know that the stronger and more flexible a joint is the less chance of injury to that joint there is. Fingers, hands, wrists and forearms can all benefit form this Power Web and is easy to take with you when you go somewhere.

Fitterfirst has been in business since 1985 when the company President designed their first product, the Pro Fitter, after skiing-related injuries. The company was born in the basement of a rented flat in Calgary, AB. Fitterfirst is committed to helping people of all ages with stability, and agility and mobility and their products are proof of that!

Not only are they fun but all three of the items that come in the Functional Office Package: the Ball Chair, Balance Board and Power Web are also excellent rehabilitation tools. Check out their article: Effective ACL Rehabilitation with Fitter Developed by Cindy Merrick and Lisa Lehman of Therapy in Motion in conjunction with the University of Oklahoma. They also offer books and videos on exercises for the Ball Chair.

Visit Fitterfirst and check out everything they have and you will probably find just what you have been looking for!
