Bellyqueens, Kaeshi Chai and Amar Gamal, have created a delightful & fun workout with their 1st DVD "Bellydance Jam".
Kaeshi and Amar Gamal, seen on the Lollapalooza music tour & most recently gaining crossover recognition as part of the "Bellydance Superstars & Desert Roses" tour nationwide & now on the overseas leg, bring their energetic vibe to this DVD project. Part workout/part instructional/part entertainment, "Bellydance Jam" provides something for everyone.
Both certified in group exercise instruction by the AFAA (Aerobics & Fitness Association of America), the multi-talented, multi-cultural duo of Kaeshi and Amar execute their moves & give instruction on various movements that are safe & correct. I enjoyed the youthful, hip approach used on this project. As with anybody with an interest in this dance, I especially loved the various performances (the solo & duet performances by Kaeshi & Amar, the Bellydance Superstars & Desert Roses performance montage. I thought also the inclusion of the interviews of performers (Dalia Carella, Jennifer Sears aka Thalia, Sira Melikian)& musicians (Karim Nagi & Vin Scialla) was a great touch. Hearing & seeing these professionals is a great educational tool as well. This DVD also includes bilingual instructions so you can learn in English or Spanish.Like any new video I see or new move I learn, I found myself doing many of the moves taught in the "Bellydance Jam" DVD: Shoulder Circles (did them in the shower); Shoulder Shimmies (did them while loading the washing machine); Hip Shimmies (in the office elevator..until someone else came in & saw me!) & Omi's (while I delivered dinner plates to the table). Sure, my kids are used to this behavior from me by now, but I think the folks in my office building think I'm loopy!
I also liked the fact that included in this DVD project, there is a CD of the music featured on the DVD! So, even if you can't take the DVD with you to work or in the car, you can still take the music with you & practice no matter where you are.
Resonably priced at $19.95, pick this one up...it is a great way to keep yourself active in this coming Fall/Winter months...and have fun while doing it!
