Wet & Wild

Guest Author - Elizabeth Darrach

Hello, and welcome back! Even though my October TBR stack is now depleted review-wise, I do still have a small stack of personal choices waiting for me, which is good. Plus I've already begun working my way through the November review pile--I'm about halfway already!

If you haven't stopped by the forum lately, you missed out on our big giveaway. Not to mention the discussions with other romance fans that are happening all the time. Never fear! I have more books to give away, and this week will have five autographed copies of Lauren Bach's latest to hand out! But you have to be a registered forum user to participate in the discussions and the giveaways, so hurry on over now to get ready! Registration is free and relatively painless, and once you've registered, then you can dive into all that fun.

This week, I have the last of my October review books to share with you. First up is Annette Blair's The Kitchen Witch
The Kitchen Witch
(Berkley). Melody Seabright is a witch. Or at least, that's what Logan Kilgarven thinks. but he can't help being wildly attracted to her. And having her working at the television station with him is not necessarily a good thing. I really wanted to like this one. Actually, I wanted to love it--it's set in Salem, Massachusetts, and the premise is hilarious--but I just didn't. The tone is a mix of category and chick lit, and I just had a really hard time believing that Logan was so conflicted that he'd leave and go away even though their relationship difficulties weren't that traumatic. This one's earned only two of Cupid's five arrows.

The other book I have to share with you this time out is Sandra Hill's Wet and Wild
Wet and Wild
(Leisure). My favorite funny woman, hands down. And with a sexy Viking hero, how can you go wrong? You can't. Ragnor Magnusson can't even find the enthusiasm required to find a pretty woman lately, but finding himself a thousand years in the future shakes things up a little. With a man whose command of the English language falls far short at times and a woman who finds that a Viking SEAL might just be the man for her, rules or no rules. Absolutely hilarious and steamy--just what a fan expects when picking up a Sandra Hill book, which means none will be disappointed. I'm giving this one four arrows. I hope we have another female Viking in our reading future.

Until next time, happy reading!
