Free Summer Activities for the Kids

Free Summer Activities for the Kids
As the warm weather begins to approach, parents around the country are starting to make plans to keep our kids busy when they are out of school and full of energy. Here are some ideas on things you can do to keep the little ones occupied during the summer.

Bowling

KidsBowlFree.com
KidsBowlFree.com gives you everything you need to know about getting your children a few free bowling games this summer. My children participated last summer and it was really fun. Here’s how it works:

Visit the website to find what participating bowling centers are in your area. Complete the form to register all of your children. (If you’ve registered in previous years you will need to re-register for the current year). After you’ve registered, your free children coupons are emailed to you weekly. You just print the coupons out and take them to your local participating bowling center. Your child will be eligible for 2 free games per day when you use your coupons.

Stipulations: Program is only open to children aged 15 and under. Shoe rental is not included. There is a 6 child maximum per registered parent.

**As an extra bonus, for a very reduced fee, you can opt to add a “Family Pass” which will also allow parents to bowl with their children during the summer. The website will give you the option when you sign up.

Book Reading

Borders bookstore offers the Double Dog Dare You summer reading program.
Double Dog Dare You

For every 10 books that your child reads, Borders will give them 1 book for free! Children can read any 10 books that they like. Download the Double Dog Dare you form from the web. Complete the form and bring it to any Borders store (Borders, Borders Express or Waldenbooks) for your free book.

This is a great way to track your child’s summer reading achievements and keep them busy with an educational activity.

Arts and Culture Program

Target Arts and Culture Program
Target sponsors numerous free or reduced activities throughout the country that you and your little ones can attend. Just visit the website, select your city and see what happenings are going on. You can usually catch a free museum day or visit an art show.

These are just a few family fun activities that everyone can enjoy this summer!
