Pop Treats from DeBarge, Tisdale, and Kingston
Guest Author - Sarah Spann

It’s that time again…it’s time for a musical snack consisting of some of pop’s yummiest tunes. Good things come in threes, and this week I have three songs that will keep you rocking out for the next seven days. These songs will reassure you that “It’s Alright, It’s OK” and will help you get a “Fire Burning” on the dance floor. These treats are so tasty, you won’t want to say “Goodbye”. Enjoy!

Kristinia DeBarge – “Goodbye”

Every once in a while a really good girl’s anthem comes along that catches your attention and even has the guys singing along. Kristinia DeBarge’s “Goodbye” is one of those songs. Empowering. Sassy. Devilishly delicious. It’s like a sweet musical ‘screw you’ with sprinkles on top. “Goodbye” will be your iPod’s guilty pleasure and your trusty stand-by song for break-ups. This song is like chicken soup for the newly single girl. In need of a post-relationship pick me up? Blast Kristinia DeBarge’s “Goodbye”, sing along like a diva, and dance like you mean it. As for the guys, you can dance and sing along to “Goodbye” too, just do it in a locked room with the curtains closed—it will be our little secret.

Tasty Fun Fact: Does the song “Goodbye” sound familiar? That might be because the song was featured on television commercials for Nivea’s Goodbye Cellulite Gel.

Ashley Tisdale – “It’s Alright, It’s OK”

Continuing on with the post break-up empowerment vibe we make our way to Ashley Tisdale’s latest release “It’s Alright, It’s OK”. This is one of those songs that really lets you get all that negativity off your chest and find the bright side of your situation. You may find yourself singing, or rather shouting, along with “It’s Alright, It’s OK” only to find yourself feeling slightly giddy as the song winds down. “It’s Alright, It’s OK” is a tasty alternative to screaming into a pillow. So grab some dark chocolate, plop down with some fluffy pillows, and instead of screaming into said pillows… put Ashley’s “It’s Alright, It’s OK” on repeat.

Tasty Fun Fact: “It’s Alright, It’s OK” will be featured on Ashley’s second studio album Guilty Pleasure which hits stores June 16, 2009.

Sean Kingston – “Fire Burning”

Now moving on to something that will induce a little booty shaking and put a smile on your face with Sean Kingston’s “Fire Burning”. This song is sure to become a huge summer hit. When it comes time for a girl’s or guy’s night out “Fire Burning” is the song you want the DJ to be playing. However, it doesn’t take a night out at the club for you to get a “Fire Burning” on the dance floor—the world is your dance floor, afterall. So, pop on your earphones and light it up. Just don’t forget to grab a fizzy beverage to cool you off afterwards!

Tasty Fun Fact: “Fire Burning” was produced by RedOne who also brought us Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”.
