Top Five Southeast Asia Structures
Guest Author - Taisha Turner

Here is a list of famous structures in Southeast Asia. With how many are you familiar?

1. Angkor Wat, Cambodia The temple complex reclaimed from the jungle. People flock to view the site in the early morning.

2. Great Wall of China, China The man-made structure that can be seen in space. The wall was built to protect the people of China from invaders.

3. Forbidden City, Beijing, China The large and ornate complex which housed China's royalty until the early 20th century. The common man was not allowed in the city's walls.

4. Torii at Miyajima Island, Japan The Red Torii at Miyajima is the subject of many photographs promoting tourism in Japan. Visit the quaint island and its shops. Watch out for the deer who will eat anything.

5. Himeji Castle, Japan Himeji Castle is in the center of Himeji City. Its nickname is "White Heron" because its walls are covered with white plaster. The white plaster fireproofs the wooden building.
