Terminator Salvation
It’s the days of the resistance battling for human existence against the machines of Skynet. A death row inmate awakens years after his supposed execution and finds himself in the midst of the battle. Tagging along with his new found friends, Kyle Reese and Star, the trio try to make their way to the leader of the resistance, and their only hope, John Connor. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Terminator Salvation”.
∙ Near the beginning of the movie, John grabs the controls of a helicopter and lifts off. The lap safety strap is unhooked and dangling when the helicopter lifts off. But when it crashes a few moments later and settles upside down, John is heard unbuckling the belt before he falls out the seat.
∙ At the old 7-11 convenience store, when Kyle says “we saw the resistance sign”, the left view of him shows his left arm is wrapped around Star and both hands are holding the gun. When Marcus says “we’re looking for fuel”, the farther front view shows the gun is by his right side, only in his right hand. The scene cuts to a rear view from Kyle’s right side and he’s holding the gun up, in its original position. Virginia walks out and the front view of Kyle, Marcus and Star shows Kyle has the gun pointed down, in his right hand again.
∙ Marcus, Kyle and Star are being chased by the two “moto terminators”. Kyle yells “where’s the other one” and the second cycle flies over, cracking the windshield with debris. Marcus grabs a shovel and in a front view, knocks the driver’s side windshield out. It cuts to a left side view and he does it again.
∙ Marcus lands on the transport carrying Kyle and Star. He tells Kyle to get back and proceeds to hit the door with an ax. He hits once and then a second blow causes the top part of the barrier to bend. It cuts to an outside view as Marcus is grabbed and there isn’t as much damage.
∙ CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! A wounded John is put on the helicopter. Kate and Marcus are near his right side while Virginia, Kyle and Star are toward his left. The helicopter is shown in the air and then cuts back to inside. While everyone else is still there, Virginia is no longer in the helicopter with the others.
“Terminator Salvation” (2009) stars Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Moon Bloodgood, Helena Bonham Carter, Anton Yelchin, Jadagrace Berry, Bryce Dallas Howard, Common, Jane Alexander and Michael Ironside. It runs 115 minutes and is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and language.
