Batam Indonesia
Guest Author - Taisha Turner

Batam, Indonesia is a short ferry trip from Singapore. A ferry leaves every half hour for a thirty minute trip to the island. Fare on the ferry is US$10-14.00 for a one-way ticket. Go to HarbourFront Towers (World Trade Centre) to ride the ferry.

Batam, Indonesia is great way for the Singapore visitor to tour the "Nation of Islands". Batam is a fast growing resort island. Yet, there is old world charm to see. Tour the fishing villages on the palm tree-lined shores. Tj Uma and Batu Merah welcome tourists to their villages. Try a traditional 'Kelong' restaurant.

The little island, Batam, in the South China Sea offers golf, day spas, beaches, boating, fishing, mountain biking and shopping. Nagoya is the main town. In it, there are many traditional shops.

If in Singapore, take a tour to Batam, Indonesia. Enjoy the ferry ride and do a little shopping or have a relaxing health spa treatment.
