Little Women (2019)

Little Women (2019)
Jo, Meg, Amy and Beth March are trying to forge their own pathways together and as individuals while growing up during the times of the Civil War. As each pursues their own ambitions, it’s a tragedy that brings them back together. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching 2019’s “Little Women”.

· At the beginning of the movie, Jo goes to see Mr. Dashwood with her story. In the right side view, when he mentions “in the next story, make sure the girl is married or dead”, he places the manuscript on the desk, with his left hand on top. It cuts to a front view when Mr. Dashwood asks, “What name”, and he’s holding the manuscript in his left hand.

· Amy is arguing with Laurie at the New Years Eve party. In the close-up, when Amy mentions he’s selfish, Laurie’s lavender tie falls only over his right side. When Laurie grabs her hand, his tie falls over his right and left.

· Friedrich is reading some of Jo’s writings. In the first views, he’s holding a newspaper clipping of her story. When Friedrich asks Jo if her novel, “would be like this”, a left side view shows he’s holding a book, folded at the spine. It cuts back to the front view and Friedrich is holding the newspaper clipping again. The scene cuts again to the side view where he’s holding the book and then back to the front view where he’s holding the clipping.

· Jo sits down and opens the book to reach to Aunt March. The book is open on her lap when Aunt March mentions Marmee. A moment later, when Aunt March starts to talk about Jo’s father, the scene cuts to a side view showing the book is closed on Jo’s lap and her arms are crossed over it. It cuts back to the original view where the book is open.

“Little Women” (2019) stars Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern, Timothee Chalamet, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Chris Cooper, and Meryl Streep. It runs 135 minutes and is rated PG for thematic elements and brief smoking.
