A nap relaxes the body and mind

Taking a few minutes to close your eyes and rest during the day, even for a short period of time can boost immune functioning of the body, as well as improve mental and emotional functioning.

A nap relaxes the body and mind, and produces healing chemicals that help the skin to look beautiful. Naps also guard against mental stress and help us to calmly deal with life.

Make yourself comfortable, close your eyes, and breathe deeply. In your mind, picture images that help you feel peace and serenity. This can help you drift softly into a comforting nap. A nap does not always have to consist of sleep. It can also be just taking some time to rest your eyes and mind for a little while. All kinds of rest rejuvenate the body, mind and skin.

Danielle Barone is the author of "Healthy Skin: A natural guide to healing the skin and developing a beautiful complexion".
