Hairspray (1988)

Hairspray (1988)
It’s Baltimore in the 1960s and Tracy Turnblad wants to be a dancer on the Corny Collins’ show. She’s also determined to win the highly coveted Miss Auto Show but faces obstacles from her number one competitor, Amber von Tussle, and for her support of integrating Baltimore’s dancing scene. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching 1988’s “Hairspray”.

· Amber announces they’ll be dancing to “Shake a Tale Feather” on Corny Collins’ show. She’s in the middle dancing with some of the others. In the farther, wider view of the dance floor, some of the other dancers are clapping their hands while circling those who are dancing in the middle. In the close-up view, they’re part of the dancing group. (Most notably the dancer in the green jacket.)

· Amber pulls up in her red car in front of her house / townhome. In the farther view, two boys wearing jeans and walking on the sidewalk have passed the car. In the close-up of Amber in the car, the two boys can be seen passing the car again.

· Tracy is modeling a dress for the Hefty Hideaway commercial. In the farther view, when she’s walking the runway, the pink pastry she eventually picks up has a bite taken out of it. But, when Tracy picks the pastry up, it’s completely intact and whole. She then takes a bite and puts it back on the pastry stand.

· Near the end, when Corny Collins announces the show will now be integrated, Tracy turns to Link who is standing next to her. The scene cuts to a farther view and Tracy is shown facing forward and turning to Link again.

“Hairspray” (1988) was written and directed by John Waters and stars Ricki Lake, Divine, Vitamin C, Sonny Bono, Debbie Harry, Ruth Brown, Jerry Stiller, Michael St Gerard, Leslie Ann Powers, Clayton Prince, Mink Stole, Shawn Thompson, Ric Ocasek and Pia Zadora.
