Low Level Laser Therapy for Healthy Hair

Hair Max has now been approved by the FDA !

When I had the chance to test the HairMax Laser Comb, I was a little hesitant. Visions of Star Wars and high-powered lasers came to mind but I was assured that this device used low level laser therapy to produce gentle nourishing results.

I did a little research and found that that the most common example of light being converted into chemical energy is photosynthesis – that’s where plants take sunlight and convert it into nourishment. Low Level Laser Therapy is also used in dentistry – for sensitive gums – and in dermatology for its healing effects. In the past, laser hair therapy was available only through exclusive hair clinics.

Reassured, I began using the HairMax Lazer Comb. It is a hand-held laser photo therapy device. The comb gives off no heat and is a gentle, nourishing light therapy using the principle of “Photo-Biostimulation” to progressively improve the appearance of your hair.

They report that 90 percent of users notice visible results within 12 weeks. Results starting with shinier, thicker looking hair and going on to denser, fuller and stronger appearing hair.

The HairMax fits easily into my hand so it is effortless to use. It comes with detachable teeth that are easy to clean – and an extra set to accommodate another user. It came in a very nice leatherette box for safe storage in between uses.

I followed the directions, using it for 10 to 15 minutes only 3 times a week – usually while I was watching television. I held it in each area for about 4 seconds and then moved it ½ inch to the next area. It has a convenient soft beep every 4 seconds as a timer.

I’m finishing my second week of use and I’m excited to see if I will begin to see the reported beneficial results. (My hair feels great and does look fuller than usual, but I hesitate to attribute it to the HairMax yet.)

UPDATE: After six weeks of use, my hair is growing faster and I've noticed that the thin areas at my temples appear to be filling in!
