Bunco

Bunco

Bunco is a dice game that has really become popular in recent years. Many organizations host a Bunco Night to socialize and have a good time.

It's a party game, so a lot of players are needed. If you enjoy Yahtzee, then Bunco should be a game with appeal. Players divide up into groups of four. Two two-player teams are now paired up and will take turns tossing the dice. The first player throws three dice. Each game is played in six rounds since the dice are six-sided. The first round of play, the person is hoping to roll a 1. If she rolls a 1, then she gets to roll the dice in round two. If none of the dice shows a 1, then play passes to the person on the next team.

For each time the desired number is rolled on the dice, that player scores one point. If she rolls all three of the desired number, then she earns 21 points. If she rolls three of a kind of any number, she earns 5 points. The first team to score 21 points wins the round. After each round, the winning team gets to move to the head table while the other players move according to their score.

In between rounds, players not only change tables but partners. It is possible to play Bunco and never play with the same teammate in one game. This helps to keep the game exciting and fun since you are constantly being paired with someone else.

While the score for the table standings is determined by team score, players need to keep track of their individual scoring. Most Bunco parties have prizes that are awarded at the end of the evening to those high scoring players.

Bunco is not so much a game as it is a social event. It gives friends a chance to get together and have some fun while catching up on what's bee going on in their lives.

Bunco combines several great games into one big event. There are elements of Yahtzee with the dice and needing to roll certain numbers. There is also a touch of Bingo added in the whole Bunco party with prizes being rewarded at the end of the evening.

There are a lot of Bunco websites that explain the history and rules of the game. BuncoRules.com offers a very straightforward approach to the game. The World Bunco Association lists clubs and organizations by state, allowing players to find games close to them.

Bunco is not only a dice game it's a social event. Many organizations host a Bunco night and have a lot of success with it. Players love to get together for Bunco night. Bunco has been around for over 100 years. It's popularity today proves that good games never go out of style.
