To begin play, pass out a score sheet to each player. Players will take turns rolling five dice. Then they will take their roll(s) and score them. Each roll must be scored in one of the 13 scoring options. To make dice rolling easier, each Yahtzee game comes with a cup. When you run out of scoring sheets, you can buy replacement packs.
Players can re-roll dice up to three times. You can re-roll any dice you want. If you are trying to score sixes and roll two, then you can keep those two and re-roll the other three dice. If you have a bad roll, then you can dump a low score into a low scoring category. Categories include scores for ones through sixes, full house, and Yahtzee - five of the same number.
The game is over when all 13 scoring positions have been filled. Now players add up their scores. The player with the most points wins the game.
Yahtzee takes about 10-20 minutes to play. It really depends upon the number of people. You can play Yathzee by yourself too. It is recommended for those ages 8 and up.
