Make a Blue Jean Bean Bag Chair
Guest Author - Lili Pintea-Reed

My son wanted a bean bag chair, but he hated the *uckky* plastic ones. Here are the plans for a nice comfy one made from old blue jeans.

Materials:
old denim jeans
Thread
recycled peanuts-type packing material

Directions:

Over time save the packing materials from various online ordered gifts (which seem to be notoriously over packaged), mailed XMAS packages and the like, or ask some store owner if you can recycle their weeks worth of foam packing bead waste. Or cut up old foam egg cartons. Any way, accumulate a large yard size garbage bag full somehow.

Take two pair of old men's jeans and cut the legs off at the crotch. Pick the least sturdy seam (of the two) and cut up the length. Do the same to each of the four pant legs. Open each up leg. Sew the four legs together using the cut side seams. If there is a taper alternate wide and narrow. This should make one long width of cloth.

Seam up the two free ends. Now you should have a cylinder. Fold flat and seam bottom. Then starting at the middle seam the top to the side. Then leaving an open space to stuff in the foam beads or *peanuts* seam to the other side.

Stuff the packing material into the bag. Seam the bag shut. Voila! Now you have an easy cheap bean bag chair!
