Affordable B&Bs This summer, B&B vacations stand for Budget and Bargains. While the price of gas increases, B&B getaways offer affordable options, including a hearty breakfast each morning. Here is a list of B&Bs, all under $150 per night, with many coming in under $100 per night. Listings are in alphabetical order by state, and unless otherwise noted, rates quoted are for double occupancy (per couple), excluding tax and gratuity, and breakfast is included in the rates. Arlington Street Urban Inn, San Francisco, CA: You're just ten minutes away by BART train from all that San Francisco offers, while staying in affordable accommodations in the Glen Park neighborhood. Enjoy French pastries baked on premises by resident pastry chef Maria, a graduate of Tante Marie's Cooking School. All rooms are under $150, starting at $79 per night. B&B Adirondack Collection, Adirondack Mountains, NY: This group of 19 Bed & Breakfasts located throughout the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY has created "Breakfast in the Adirondacks." Offered throughout the summer, this special package includes three midweek (Sun-Thurs) nights at any one of the participating B&B's or one midweek night at three of any of the participating B&B's, for those who'd rather sample more than one from the collection. Ward's Pond Bed & Breakfast, Dolgeville, NY: Featured on PBS's "Find!" and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this five-story 113 year old Victorian mansion is the perfect place for an affordable respite. With a legacy of its own, this B&B has been owned by the same family for five generations, with the original owner's great-great grandson - also named Ward - still co-owner. Blue Rock B&B, Lancaster, PA: Stay in Pennsylvania Dutch country, as you hear the clip clopping of Amish buggies pass by. Plenty of museums and family attractions available within minutes. Sweet Onion Inn, Hancock, VT: If you're a connoisseur of organic, vegetarian foods, the Couples Sneak Away Package is the ticket.
