The shade of red that I am wearing now is very close to my original natural hair color. However, with age, my natural color has darkened to a medium to dark reddish brown.



To get the light auburn that I have now, I use this formula:

3/4 ounce level 8 gold/beige blond
3/4 ounce level 8 natural blond
1 1/2 ounce 30 volume developer.
Timed according to instructions.

This color formula lightens my natural brown and brings out the red while neutralizing any orange cast. So the lightening action, in combination with the tint, gives me the light auburn that I love.
