NFL Heads to London
Guest Author - Kori Ellis

The Miami Dolphins will take on the New York Giants this week at sold-out Wembley Stadium in London, England.

This is only the second time an NFL regular season game has ever taken place outside of the United States. The first time was in 2005 when Arizona beat San Francisco in Mexico City. Several exhibition games have been held overseas in the past, but not a regular season game.

Unfortunately on paper, this game is not a great matchup. The Dolphins are 0-7 on the season and just lost their starting running back, Ronnie Brown, to a season-ending injury.

Miami will be facing a red-hot Giants team, who have one five straight games and look to continue that streak this Sunday. This is the worst start in their 42-year franchise history for the Dolphins.

Brown had been leading the league in total yards from scrimmage going into last Sunday's game against the undefeated New England Patriots. But in the third quarter of the game, after racking up 76 rushing yards and 33 receiving yards, the 25-year-old Dolphins running back went down with a serious knee injury. He had been on pace to accummulate over 2,200 all-purpose yards on the season, which would have been phenomenal.

In other NFL news, despite the deadly wildfires in Southern California, the San Diego Chargers will play the Houston Texans at home in Qualcomm Stadium on Sunday as scheduled.

Many thought that the game would be delayed due to the fact the stadium was being used as an emergency evacuation center earlier this week. However on Friday, the stadium was closed as the evacuation site and it was announced the game would go on as scheduled.

The Patriots will look to stay undefeated this week, as they match up with the Washington Redskins.

Other games on tap this weekend include:

Cleveland at St. Louis
Detroit at Chicago
Indianapolis at Carolina
Oakland at Tennessee
Philadelphia at Minnesota
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati
Buffalo at N.Y. Jets
Jacksonville at Tampa Bay
New Orleans at San Francisco
Green Bay at Denver (Monday Night)
