Teams of Enemies
Guest Author - Megan Romer

The folks over at Big Toe Games have put a new twist on the classic trivia game with Teams of Enemies. The game has taken the concept of "team games" one step further... instead of playing on one team the whole game, the players switch and shift teams throughout the game, and ultimately, each player is playing for themselves.

The trivia questions are broken up into 5 categories, the categories aren't really broken up by subject, but rather, by question type. For example, category #2 has players try to put a list of items in the correct sequence. A sample question is:

Put these Best Actress Oscar Winners in order of their wins, most recent to least recent:

a. Meryl Streep/Sophie's Choice
b. Kathy Bates/Misery
c. Julie Andrews/Mary Poppins
d. Louisie Fletcher/One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
e. Bette Davis/Jezebel
f. Audrey Hepburn/Roman Holiday

(scroll down to the bottom of this article for the correct answer)

The fact that you're switching teams throughout the game makes it fun for many reasons. One of the biggest reasons is that you never get stuck with the person who doesn't know about anything other than sports, nor do you get stuck playing the entire game against the trivia nerd on the other team. Also, the game moves pretty quickly and you often don't have to spend very long waiting for your turn (a problem with lots of trivia games). This game made trivia games fun for me again!
