Ribbon Headband in this Updo

Ribbon Headband in this Updo
Every hairstyle you wear should be designed and accessorized so that it is uniquely yours. Proms and weddings call for dressy hairstyles and a beautiful hair style attracts as much attention as a beautiful prom dress. At this year's Winter Formal or Prom accessorize your updo with something that makes it uniquely yours. The simple addition of a headband or in this case a ribbon used as the headband, can give your hairstyle a memorable design look. This model’s updo is softened with a satin ribbon that matches her dress, giving it a younger and more feminine look.

The bangs of this style are allowed to fall naturally to one side with just a slight feminine curve. The top is back-combed slightly for a trendy poof on top. Her hair is pulled to the back of her head and secured with bobby pins before forming the cluster of curls. The ends of small strand of hair are formed into smooth curls. Each curl is individually placed, building on each other to form the cluster.

As a finishing touch, a satin ribbon that is an exact match for her prom dress is placed around the perimeter of the style starting just behind the bangs. The ends of the ribbon are tied into a neat bow at the nape area. The ribbon is pinned into place with bobby pins that are hidden by the loops of the bow.

Hair color also affects the design of your hairstyle. Highlights accentuate the lines and the curls of this style. Larger, more sleek curls and lines are attractive in hair that is a solid color.

My thanks to Selina from Elegant Salon in Fort Wayne IN for submitting this hairstyle.
