Make money by selling board games

Selling board games is no longer just for retail stores. Now there are several ways for individuals to either start a home business selling board games or use their website to sell board games. Some ways to sell board games have no cost to you while others will cost you some startup money. It really depends on how you plan to sell board games.

Affiliate programs

If you have a website or blog, then you can sell board games through the manufacturer's affiliate program. Signing up as an affiliate program is usually free, and you earn a percentage of the sales generated from traffic you send to the website. Many websites that sell board games like Amazon, Are You Game?, and Funagain Games have an affiliate program. Just embed banners or text links into your website to point your readers to board games. Signing up with an outfit like Commission Junction(cj.com) will give you the tools to search through hundreds of affiliate programs and apply for the ones that sell board games.

Selling board games from home

SimplyFun is a board game publisher that only sells their games through direct sales. So you have to buy from a SimplyFun consultant. To become a consultant, there is an upfront cost that includes all the materials you need like sample games, order forms, and more. The SimplyFun program works like other home party businesses. Someone will host a party and invite their friends and/or co-workers. Then everyone plays the sample SimplyFun games. Then those in attendance can order the games that they most enjoyed if they want to. SimplyFun consultants also receive a consultant website that will allow them to take orders online, giving them another way to make sales other than parties.

Board Games and more

Another at home business that sells board games and more is Discovery Toys. There is also a cost to become a Discovery Toys consultant although it is less than the SimplyFun startup cost. Discovery Toys does offer a business website to its consultants but it does cost extra.

Before venturing into any direct sales busines, it's best to decide what suits you best. Do you love attending parties? Or do you prefer e-commerce? Once you've decided which route to go(or both) then research the company you are interested in. Check below for direct links to SimplyFun and Discovery Toys.
