Hello, and welcome back! We're having beautiful spring weather here (still!), which means that instead of sitting with a book, I should really be doing some weeding. Maybe. Or maybe I'll pick another book from the stack after I've finished the kitchen chores and just sit outside with it. In the meantime, I have two new May books to share with you this time out.

Big Trouble (Signet Eclipse) by Marianna Jameson is up first. Computer security consultant Naomi Connor fights for her next assignment--to help the company she accidentally hacked into as a kid. Joe Casey doesn't know what Naomi did, but there's something about her he just can't put his finger on, something that keeps him on his toes. Aside from practically slamming the door in your face after building up some serious sexual tension, there's nothing really wrong with this one. But it just didn't grab me, even before the virtual door-slamming. There were no big surprises in this one. It was just okay for me, so it's earned only three of Cupid's five arrows.

And Able (Brava) by Lucy Monroe is next. So, what do you do with a super-sexy guy who kisses until your eyes cross, then in the next breath reiterates his no-commitment policy? Well, you can't not fall in love with him, that's for sure. Claire Sharp has known Hotwire, aka Brett Adams, for a while now, but she has plenty to keep her busy without falling for a guy who's only interested in casual sex. Hotwire may not want a commitment, but he definitely wants Claire, and when she's in danger, taking control of the situation--and getting her alone--is a no-brainer. Claire and Hotwire's story is fun, with plenty of steam heat, in case your spring isn't as pleasant as ours, and a good, quick read. Sure, there are a few things that aren't necessarily believable, but for this story, who cares? It was fun, and it all comes out okay in the end. I'm giving this one four arrows.
