Fellowship Opportunity in Washington, D.C.

The Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation - Parent Public Policy Fellowship Program 2007 deadline is September 15, 2006 with the successful applicant expected to begin the year in January of 2007.

The program provides a one-year full-time exposure to the federal public policy making process, and includes a stipend and relocation expenses. The website has not been updated in awhile, but it does show for a previous year the stipend being $75,000.

They seek parents or family members with prior advocacy experience, although salaried experience in the field is not a requirement. The expectation is that fellows will become future leaders in the field of disabilities.

This is a wonderful opportunity for parents of children with autism, from the United States who are prepared to live in the Washington, D.C. area. The Application process is explained in this three page pdf document. For questions relating to this application process contact Steven Eidelman at (302) 831-2574.
