The Pit Stop Biker Bar - Frederick, MD

The Pit Stop Bar in Frederick, Maryland is a one story stucco building that you normally wouldn’t even notice when driving by, except that the color of the building is red.

One of its’ best features is that it is situated next to the Frederick, Maryland Harley Davidson dealership, so you can visit there first, then mosey on over to the bar for a cool drink and really good eats. The bartender Debi will greet you with a smile and excellent service.

The bar seats about twenty with high boy tables in the bar area and the dance floor area. The owners make sure that there is a variety of events going on all week. Thursday night is Karaoke, with live local bands on Friday and Saturday that play country, southern rock, oldies and rock and roll. Some of the bands that have played The Pit Stop are Desert Wind, Done Deal, and Steel Rose.

The owners, Bill and Michelle, are not the typical bar owners. Bill is a biker guy when he has free time but he also plays golf. Michelle is a southern belle that is smart and beautiful and brings a touch of class to the place.

The drinks are stout and a very good price, not your typical Washington, D.C. area prices. The food is your usual biker bar menu, but they actually have homemade soups that will knock your socks off. I guess you know that wherever bikers go to eat, it is always the best food around. I had their chicken noodle soup and it was the best I have every eaten. Keep in mind I am a country girl used to southern style home cooking and theirs is absolutely the tops.

Their chili cheese fries come loaded and is too much to eat for one person. Their nachos are also mountain sized and always come extra loaded with goodies so that you never have a lonely chip. Last, but not the least, their burgers are made for a healthy appetite. They are a half pound of real hamburger grilled with special seasoning and loaded with toppings. If you aren’t a meat and potatoes type of person, never fear, they have delicious chicken and tuna salads. Prices range from $3.00 to $7.00.

You can visit The Pit Stop when you are in the Frederick, Maryland area at:
7429 Grove Road, Frederick, Maryland, 21704 or call at 301-662-4540. Least I forget to mention, the Frederick, Maryland area has some beautiful country roads to ride and it is just a hop and a skip to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

Until next week, ride and party safe.

Nancy
