Product Review - Puerta del Sol, Spanish Audio Magazine.
;

You have been studying Spanish, done all those exercises and tests, and probably you have watched some Spanish film or soap opera, most of the times with subtitles, right? Maybe you just want to put into practice what you have learned...

I have here, in my hand Puerta del Sol Audio Magazine. It is a bi-monthly publication that includes current issues from Spain and, from my point of view, this is a very interesting way of learning / reviewing not just Spanish grammar and vocabulary, which is very important, of course, but also it's a great way to learn about Spain and its culture.

Just listen to the CD or tape and read the texts. The magazine contains some words / expressions in bold that have their corresponding translations on the next page (Glossary). The CD has a great sound quality and Toni Garrido, the man who introduces us to every issue, has a clear and good Spanish pronunciation. Nice voice!

The content is very interesting, covering, as mentioned above, current issues with segments of voice recordings by several famous people from Spain. So, you won't just listen to Toni Garrido, but you'll also have the opportunity of listening to other people, what makes it even more practical!

Additionally, we have two interesting complements to this Audio Magazine: The 'Study Supplement' and the 'Audio Flash Cards CD'. The first one, the 'Study supplement', I've found very useful, as it contains several very complete exercises, to help you understand and learn new vocabulary and expressions, and of course, their pronunciation. There are a number of Prelistening / Postlistening exercises (yes, with 'Answer Key' included!). The 'Flash Cards CD' contains a selection of the terms we have previously read / listened to (yes, those in bold, on the magazine, and also included in the glossary). You can listen to every word, then, after about three seconds, you will hear its translation. And when you have already listened to all the words, you'll hear them again, but this time, you'll first listen to the English term first, and then, to its Spanish translation.

I've always thought that if you want to learn... do it the best way, that is, making it as interesting as possible.

If you enjoy it, it will be easier for you to understand and learn. So... what are you waiting for?
