If you are fascinated with a variety of aircrafts or just have a tiny bit of curiosity about planes, then you might want to check out the Oshkosh Aircraft Show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This event is held annually during the last week in July. It will certainly be of interest for visitors of all ages.

It’s hard to imagine an event with almost 10,000 aircraft flying in and out of the area throughout the week. There will be plenty of aircraft entertainment shows including professional aerobatic teams doing stunts, parachuting, and skydiving.

When you go to the Oshkosh Aircraft Show, you will have plenty to choose from when it comes to viewing aircraft. There will be naval aircraft such as the C-2 Greyhound, EC-C Hawkeye, Blue Angel, S-3 Viking, and a U.S. Marine Corp AV-8B Harrier II.

If war planes are of interest to you, then you may enjoy such aircraft as the Douglas R4D, a Navy torpedo bomber, PV-2 Harpoon, Douglas A-4 Skyhawk, F74 Tigercat, and SB2C Helldriver. There will also be vintage, ultralight, and even homebuilt planes to check out.

Also available will be scheduled forums, workshops, and speakers. When at the forums, visitors can learn about building, maintaining, or restoring aircraft. Workshops include aircraft assembly, building wings, and sheet metal forming, to name just a few. Experts will be on hand to teach visitors all that they know about aircraft.

If you are an avid reader, there will be plenty of aviation books for you to choose from in the author’s corner. Much enjoyment can be obtained from the written works of many professionals who share their knowledge and passion in written form.

Evening entertainment includes musical groups, such as REO Speedwagon and Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band. For movie lovers, a variety of films such as Top Gun, Airplane and Apollo 13 will be played nightly on a five-story high outdoor theatre.

Airplane rides will be available in your choice of a B-17 Aluminum Overcast, a Bell 47 helicopter, or a 1929 Ford Tri-Motor during the show.

Whether you are a diehard aircraft enthusiast or simply want to get a glimpse at a variety of planes, check out this air show. Make sure you bring walking shoes and be ready for some fun!
