Easy, Inexpensive Holiday Gifts

The Holidays are quickly approaching and it's time to start thinking about gifts to make and give, so here are some ideas for gifts for doll lovers. Most of these ideas require small amounts of fabric and trims which you can easily find in your fabric collection or scrap basket. This will keep the cost down but the gifts will mean so much because you made it yourself. All of these ideas are articles that you can find right here on the Doll Making Site.

15 Inch Annie Doll
For the doll body you only need a piece of fabric approximately 20 inches by 24 inches. For the dress you'll need about half a yard of fabric. The hair and face can be done with leftovers as well. Another great gift idea would be to put all the cut fabric, yarn, floss and sewing notions together for a child or doll loving friend you'd like to sew with. The articles can be found here 15 Inch Annie Doll.

Dresses for American Girl type dolls
Here is a pattern and instructions to make a dress for 18 to 22 inch dolls. This dress takes less than a yard of fabric and is easy to make. You can find the pattern here Dresses for 18 to 22 Inch Dolls. Add a slip to the outfit with the pattern here Make a Slip for 18 to 22 Inch Dolls.

Make Dolls to Hang on Your Tree
This article has instructions to make handkerchief and corn husk dolls. These little dolls would be perfect on a country style tree or to decorate any doll lover's tree. Find the article here Ornament Dolls.

If you have all the supplies needed to make one of these gifts in your stash, but not a lot of time, you can still give a wonderful gift. Cut all the fabric to the required size, put enough stuffing in a freezer bag, add in any needed thread and trims, print out the pattern and put it all in a pretty box! What doll enthusiast wouldn't love to get such a fun gift?
