Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves
Guest Author - Lisa Shea

I really love the Robin Hood series of stories. This version starred Kevin Costner and while it was fun, it was chock full of mistakes.

First, Azeem needed to pray "towards Mecca" not just in a random "East" direction. In reality, Mecca would be southwards, not due east. Also, Muslims don't clasp their hands together. That's a Christian movement. Muslims lay themselves down onto the ground.

Movie makers never seem to understand how physics work. Robin holds onto the rope and cuts it so the chandelier goes down. However, when the chandelier hits the grond, Robin somehow keeps going upwards to reach the top of the tower.

When King Richard I came back from the crusades, he was only 37. Maybe he had really "aged" during his fighting!

The scribe must have been a truly modern scribe. In those days, you didn't say "didn't", you said "did not". You did not use contractions. The scribe did, though!

Robin and Azeem are rather fast walkers. They arrive in England at the famous white cliffs of Dover, a glorious sight on the southern coast of England. However, a short while later they're dancing along on top of Hadrian's Wall which is up near Scotland.
