Christmas stockings were always one of my favorite parts of the holidays.
My great-aunt Liz knitted incredibly intricate stockings in fine gauge for 3 generations of children in my family, they are huge with our names in the top and Christmas morning would always find them full of apples, oranges and nuts and a few little things. Pencils and perfume frequently for me.
We still use them sometimes, but my daughter also loves designing new stockings every year, she sews them, or purchases them and decorates them with lots of glitter.

Day 18- A Wreath
Since tomorrow I'm going back to non-Christmas patterns, I thought I should put this in here.

Gillian Buchanan, the tatting host has this delicate lacy pattern for a stocking.
