Resources for Battered Men

Guest Author - Jeanette Stingley

Of all of the articles I have researched, this was the hardest one to find information for. There aren’t many man only resources out there. The National Domestic Violence Hotline of course has resources and references for everyone so that should be a first step whether you are a man or a woman.

The following is a list of resources for men. Some are not gender specific so it is safe to assume that men can call for help. Don't hesitate to call Women's shelters and resources that say they only help women. Someone who answers your call may know someone or somewhere that you can turn to for help. If you know of any resources I do not have listed here, by all means e-mail me so I can add it. This listing was last updated February 14, 2011. Look for the word *NEW* for new listings. Please report any dead links to me so we keep fresh information available. If you know of any resources I can put here, email me!

Stop Abuse For Everyone (SAFE) http://www.safe4all.org/
“Stop Abuse For Everyone (SAFE) is a human rights organization that provides services, publications, and training to serve those who typically fall between the cracks of domestic violence services: straight men, gays and lesbians, teens, and the elderly. We promote services for all victims and accountability for all perpetrators.”
