10 Best Valentines Day Dates
Guest Author - Barbara Merkord

10 Best Valentines Day Dates

1.) Stay home! Who says you have to go out or spend a bunch of money just to have a fabulous date? Light candles, lots of them (but for safety sake, keep a close eye on them!) put on some sultry music that you and your partner both enjoy, pour some wine and share an amazing meal (created together) and spend the rest of the night cuddling and watching movies, or anything else your little mind can come up with.

2.) Reserve your spot at a special restaurant. Allow yourself permission to indulge your taste buds, regardless of price. If price is an issue, simply order that extravagant meal and share it. Romantic!

3.) If possible, take a horse-drawn ride through the city. Bring an extra fuzzy blanket and some wine, it’s a great way to spend Valentines Day.

4.) Spend a few days at a bed and breakfast. Ideal if your budget allows. Ask a relative or friend to stay with your children and spend those days completely engrossed with each other. Fall in love all over again.

5.) Share the day with your friends. Share desserts and beverages, watch movies, but most importantly focus on why you love these people so much, and share it!

6.) Surprise yourselves! Flip coins or take turns picking which direction to go until you end up at a restaurant. Once there, close your eyes and pick your meal (if it’s something you truly cant stand, pick again, or just decide what you like best).

7.) Make Valentines Day treats and deliver them to single or elderly people in your neighborhood. It’s a feel-good date for all involved!

8.) Have a Valentine Picket! Complete with basket, blankets, foodstuffs and drinks. Snuggle up together in the blankets and take turns feeding each other. Toast to things that you love about each other.

9.) Get a massage together. There is nothing more relaxing and feel-good than getting a massage with your partner. You will both feel like celebrities and will wake away renewed.

10.) Have an elaborate, over the top date. Make the most of this day! Flowers, gifts, poetry, wine, dancing, extravagant food, all are things that you could include on this date. Use your imagination, make it fabulous!
