Spanish Language Book Club

Welcome to the Spanish Reading Club!!

But how does it work? First, joining this club is completely free. I'm telling you this as I've lately received some e-mails asking me if anyone interested in this Spanish Book Club should pay for it. The only money you have to spend is when you buy the book (you can buy it/them from the links below).

We'll read a book (in Spanish!) every month, and the Spanish Language Forum will be open to all your comments, notes or questions.

At the end of each month, we'll have a chat session to talk about the book of the month.

Then, I'll write a revision on the book, linked to our forum, for all those who didn't read it.

Every month I'll propose a different Spanish level book: this way you'll find the book that best fits your Spanish level. If you have any suggestion or idea related with all this, feel free to e-mail me or leave a message on the forum.

Interested? These are our next book picks:

March (Marzo)
2007

Goldilocks and the Three Bears: Ricitos de oro y los tres osos (Keepsake Stories - Dual Language)style=border:none
by Candice Ransom (Author), Tammie Lyon (Illustrator)

I think this book will be great to learn more vocabulary and expressions, being a children's story. Also, a good way to review the uses of both simple past tenses in Spanish. (Well, this last thing is not exactly for beginners, but... why not a good introduction to these past tenses?

Level: Beginner-Intermediate

April (Abril)
2007
El principito (Spanish)style=border:none
by Antoine De Saint-Exupýýry (Author), Bonifacio Del Carril (Translator)

No matter if you have already read this book in English. Enjoy it again, but this time in Spanish!

Level: Intermediate.

May (Mayo)
2007
Poeta En Nueva York (Pocas Palabras)style=border:none
by Federico García Lorca

Federico Garcia Lorca (1898-1936) is one of the greatest writers in Spain. This book was written between 1929-1930, when he was studing at Columbia University."

Level: Intermediate-Advanced
