|This will be the sixth year of the International PHP Conference which includes participants from twenty countries. Among the goals of the conference is the facilitation of communication between PHP code developers and those who put that code into practical applications. The three day conference has many activities to choose from including full day workshops, hourly long sessions, keynote speakers and exhibitions of the latest market products and applications.|
Some of the day long Power Workshops from past conferences have included MySQL 5.1 in Depth, PHP Starter – First Steps in PHP, PHP Security, Mastering Enterprise-level PHP Tools PEAR, PhpDocumentor and Testing, Mozilla Driver Applications with PHP, Firebird for Beginners, Firebird for Professionals, MySQL Performance Optimization, Relational Database Starter Day, XML and Web Services with PHP5 and PEAR, PHP and MySQL Best Practices and Distribute PHP Application with PEAR.
Past hourly long sessions have covered several major areas such as General PHP, PHP and Databases, PHP Extensions, PHP-GTK, PHP and Business / Integration, PHP Design, PHP and XML and PHP Security.
Previous speakers have included Tim Bray of the Oxford English Dictionary project at the University of Waterloo, Julian Dolby a researcher at IBM, Oliver Frick a Product Manager at SAP, Sara Golemon a Senior Engineer at Yahoo! Inc, and Graeme Johnson a senior software developer at IBM.
After hours extras include Management Day which is a series of 45 minute long talks on topics related to PHP project management. Another extra is the PHP Code Camp which are small classes of no more than 35 participants and lead by IT experts who discuss example code for real world applications.
