5. Place the roll, seam side down and cut the roll into 1/2-inch thick slices. Place the slices about 2 inches apart on the baking sheets.
6. Bake the cookies until they are a deep golden brown, about 12 to 14 minutes. Remove the cookies from the foil and transfer to a rack to cool completely. Serve immediately.
