Using my own dolls, I took the measurements for 6 types of doll bodies, given in both inches and centimeters. Keep in mind with soft doll parts the measurements may vary as the stuffing gets moved around over time and play. When making doll clothes be sure to make the clothing larger than the doll body measurements for ease of dressing and movement. Here are baby doll body measurements.

1. Slim 18 inch (45cm) Dolls
Measurements taken on Magic Attic doll:
Chest - 10 inches (25cm)
Waist - 9.5 inches (24cm)
Hips - 10 inches (25cm)
Across shoulders - 4 inches (10cm)
Shoulder to waist - 3.5 inches (8cm)
Top of arms - 3.75 inches (9cm)
Waist to below knees - 6.5 inches (16cm)
Waist to ankles - 8.75 inches (22cm)

2. Full-bodied 18 inch (45cm) Dolls
Measurements taken on Gotz Precious Day doll:
Chest - 12.75 inches (32cm)
Waist - 11.75 inches (30cm)
Hips - 12.75 inches (32cm)
Across shoulders - 4.5 inches (11cm)
Shoulder to waist - 4.5 inches (11cm)
Top of arms - 4.75 inches (13cm)
Waist to below knees - 5.5 inches (14cm)
Waist to ankles - 9.5 inches (24cm)

3. Madeline by Eden - 15 inch (45cm) Doll:
Chest - 10 inches (25cm)
Waist - 10 inches (25cm)
Hips - 10 inches (25cm)
Across shoulders - 4.5 inches (11cm)
Shoulder to waist - 3.25 inches (8cm)
Top of arms - 3 inches (7.5cm)
Waist to below knees - 5 inches (13cm)

4. Kathe Kruse Toni 15 inch (45cm) Doll:
Chest - 8.5 inches (21.25cm)
