Make Your Own Halloween Costumes Are your kid’s having trouble deciding what to be for Halloween this year? Have you been searching through stores but never finding just the right costume? Maybe the idea of spending money on something that’s only going to be worn once has been holding you back from making that final decision. If a homemade costume will suit your needs, the Family Fun website offers ideas for over 100 different children’s costumes projects. They have their costumes divided into categories: New Costumes, Last Minute, Classics, Most Unique, For Little Kids, Multi-Part. Click each link to see a photo of a child in the listed costume. The site offers detailed instructions for each costume, including a list of need materials and comments from other crafters who have made project. Below are a few of my favorites: Both The Pirate and The Scarecrow Costumes received good comments from other crafters and are easy to assemble. With these costumes, it’s easy to look great and have fun without spending a lot of money. Take some black leggings, a turtleneck, some red and black felt, a glue gun and a few other materials and you can create an adorable Ladybug Costume. This is really a great costume for a young child an appears to be fairly easy to make. The Viking costume will appeal to older children, but might take a little more time than some of the other costumes. Kids will love braiding the yarn for the Viking hair. Angels and Fairies are always adorable. The fairy costume received positive comments from other crafters. The wings seem to be the most challenging part of the costume. Once you have the wings, the rest is easy. If your looking for something a little scary try the mummy costume, it’s simply and quick to assemble or maybe your little one wants to take flight as a bat. Both costumes received positive comments and appear to be quick and economical to make.
