Welcome to BellaOnline News for Kids. I’m Violette DeSantis, pronounced like the flower violet. As the Editor of the News for Kids @ BellaOnline site, I hope we can get together once a week and share fun and insightful news that is happening around the world and in our own backyard. There will be topics for all from current events to important news events from the past.

The easiest way to know that I am here for you is by signing up for the News for Kids newsletter. You’ll be alerted to new articles and updates from the News for Kids news desk on a weekly basis. We will also get you caught up with the ongoing discussions in the News for Kids forum where you can find out what other kids are saying about today’s news events.

Ask your parents permission to sign up for the News for Kids newsletter. Please look for a sign up box on the right sidebar or below this or any other article on the News for Kids site. Enter your e-mail address in the box provided and click on the arrow or subscribe, whichever one you see. Please check your e-mail to confirm that you’ve been signed up. You should receive an automated test e-mail that was sent. If you did not receive it and you have checked both your spam filter and folder, then please contact me.

We certainly invite you to stop on by the News for Kids forum if you haven’t already to sign up there as well. Please ask your parents permission to join. Remind them that the News for Kids forum is moderated and I will edit messages to make sure personal information isn’t posted online. Never use your real name online and do not share your address or phone number with anyone. Follow any rules we post in the stickied threads in the forum (those are the posts up top).

I welcome any suggestions and feedback that you may have. Contact me to go on assignment and get the news you need. I am happy to answer any questions, and if I don’t know the answer, I will do my best to point you in the right direction.

To contact me, click on the link on the right sidebar or below every article near the newsletter sign up box. In addition, if you receive the News for Kids newsletter, you have the opportunity to contact the Editor by replying directly from any newsletter and your e-mail will go to my mailbox.
