This dish looks so elegant on the plate it's unbelievable how easy it is to make. Serve with buttered baby carrots or string beans wrapped in bacon and buttery roasted potatoes.
Ingredients
2 cups butter, softened
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cups dry white wine
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 large onion, sliced
1 8-ounce package sliced fresh mushrooms
1-1/2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch pieces
Salt and pepper
2 tablespoons dry sherry
Instructions
1. Combine first butter, garlic, white wine and parsley. Stir well.
2. Melt 3 tablespoons of the butter mixture in a large skillet over medium-heat. Add onion, and cook 6 minutes or until golden. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring constantly, 5 minutes or until tender. Remove onion mixture from skillet. Set aside.
3. Sprinkle steak liberally with salt and pepper. Melt 3 tablespoons of the butter mixture in skillet over medium-high heat; add steak. Cook 5 minutes or to desired degree of doneness, stirring constantly. Return onion mixture to skillet. Stir in sherry. Cook, stirring constantly, until thoroughly heated. Serve over hot cooked noodles or rice.
