Who kidnapped baby Jake? That is the big question on General Hospital now. Was it a random snatching? Is it possible that Liz did something to Jake? Maybe Jerry Jacks took off with him. Perhaps it was an enemy of Jason’s who found out that Jason is really Jake’s father. Or could it be someone close to Liz and Lucky that took the boy? Each possibility will bring different complications to the people of Port Charles.

If this was just some random kidnapping, no one in town is safe. Little Spencer or Cameron could be next on the kidnapper’s hit list. All the parents in town would be in a state of terror and fear. This would be horrible for Liz, as her rapist a few years back was also a random stranger.

One suspect we can discount right away is Elizabeth. She hasn’t shown signs of post partum depression, though with the way her pregnancy ended, she has every reason to have issues. She only turned away from Jake for a moment to help Cameron with his shoes. Unless she asked someone to come take her baby, which is completely out of character for Liz, she could not have had anything to do with his disappearance.

Could Jerry have taken the baby? Possibly. The Metro Court hostage situation shows that he is capable of just about anything. But really, what would be the good in taking the boy? Jerry has already, thanks to Emily, ensured that his life won’t be ended any time soon. He may be capable of any crime, but he isn’t likely to do something unless there is a huge payoff in it for Jerry.

Now that Lorenzo is thought dead, who would really count as an enemy of Jason’s? Wouldn’t it be interesting if Father Mateo Ruiz is found to be the one who took the baby? That is definitely something that Manny would have done, just to torment Jason. And to take the baby and point the blame at Sam would be even better for him.

Sam is the most likely suspect in the kidnapping, which probably means she didn’t do it. Sam wants a baby, JASON’S baby, and can’t have that. She has also commented that her life would be easier if Jake disappeared. Sam is a lot of things, but she is not a fool. If she was going to take the baby, she would not have left a trail of evidence, including careless statements.

Amelia, however, could have taken the boy. She knows the truth about his parentage, and she knows how desperate Sam is to have Jason’s child. Now that Sonny and Jason both know that she is a part of Everyday Heroes only to get revenge on Sam, Amelia needs some different ammo against her father’s shooter. Framing Sam for kidnapping Baby Jake could be just the thing to get her revenge.
