Attitude

Winston Churchill said, “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.” As a whole, we are surrounded by negativity - the economy, the world situation, the environment and more. Do you believe your attitude can make a difference? I have a story I’d like to share.

Random House College Dictionary defines attitude as: "manner, disposition, feeling, position, etc., toward a person or things" Have you taken a long hard look at your own attitude lately? Are you being swept up in negativity or do you wake up each morning saying, “I love my life?”

Attitude is a combination of our values and beliefs and how we mentally and emotionally apply these values and beliefs to the world around us. Attitude is a choice. The world can appear to be negative and bleak or it can be filled with promise and optimism. You get to choose your attitude.

Here is a story a friend sent to me a few years back. I don't know the author but I believe it could very well be the right story at the right time for all of us. Enjoy!

There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three strands of hair on her head.

She said, "I think I'll braid my hair today."
So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two strands of hair on her head.

"H-M-M," she mused, "I think I'll part my hair down the middle today."
So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one strand of hair on her head.

"Well," she said, "today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail."
So she did and she had a fun-filled day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.

"YEA!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"

What do you think? Do you believe your day-to-day attitude makes a difference in living life positively or negatively? Faced with the same situation, would your attitude have been any different from the woman’s in this story?

The motivational speaker Zig Ziglar calls it “a check up from the neck up.” Honestly ask yourself, is it time for my check up from the neck up?
