The Easy Way To Build A Mailing List

The Easy Way To Build A Mailing List
If you have been marketing your magic show for any period of time, certainly you have tried direct mail. Direct mail is a fantastic way to reach a lot of prospects with your sales pitch. It is deliverd to their hands and they can review on their own time.

But, who do you mail to? Do you just mail to "The Event Planner" at every business in your area? This will surely cause a great many of your sales letters to go straight to the circular file, unread. It is important to be sure your sales pitch is mailed to the right person, and addressed to his or her name, not just to a title. Not only does this get every piece of mail to the person you want, but increases the chance they will actually read it.

Now, you can sit down on the phone and call company after company, requesting the name of the event planner at that company, their address and what events they have each year. This will give you a highly qualified list. The problem is, most of us are too lazy to do this.

What if you could buy this list? Can you think of how you would use a list of event planners of companies in your area? You could mail to them several times every year.

What if you could buy this list for $100 or less? Well, you can.

Find a lady in your neighborhood or circle of friends that is willing to sit down for a few hours every day and go through the yellow pages, calling companies. She will ask what events the company stages each year, like picnics and parties, the name and title of the event planner and their phone number. For $8-$10/hour, you should be able to find someone to work out of their own home, compiling this list. Be sure to get phone numbers, too. You may want to follow up your mailings with a call. This will certainly increase your sales.

So often there are jobs we know we should do, to build or operate our business, but the tasks are unappealing. By hiring casual labor for a few dollars an hour we can get these tasks done. A small investment for what should be a great return. Research, envelope stuffing, shipping are all tasks that a college student, housewife or family member can do. By hiring out these tasks, we free ourselves to sell and perform and run our business.

Good luck is often the result of hard work.
