For Gloria to stand on her own.

When Gloria first appeared in town, I knew she was a trouble. She looked for the richest man in town with hopes of marrying and taking advantage of everything life has to offer. Well, she hit the jackpot when she met Jack Abbott. She schemed and manipulated her way into marrying John. After he died, she slowly maneuvered her way into William Bardwell’s life. And after William’s death, Gloria is on this lost path. She needs to throw herself back into her career and focus on what she does best: creating ideas for new Jabot products. Gloria could be an example of a character finally learning to get it right.

For David and Nikki to remain a couple.

I have been going back and forth with these two, wondering if I would want Nikki back with Victor. However, I realize that Nikki and David are so much more interesting. Victor is still set in his ways, and does not realize Nikki is not the same woman who he met in a nightclub many years ago. Today, Nikki is a confident businesswoman who has even run for Senate. David, on the other hand, is not threatened by Nikki’s confidence. If Nikki and Victor reunite, it will be more of the same - Victor calling the shots and controlling her every move. David is a positive change for Nikki.

For Neil to move on.

Ever since Drucilla left, the Winters family has not been the same. Drucilla was a vibrant character who I looked forward to seeing on the show. Immediately after Drucilla was presumed dead, Neil started drinking again. Neil was very distraught for a while, but Sharon, Lily and Devon helped Neil work through his grieving. Neil is now close to Karen. At first, Lily and Devon were not receptive to Karen. This was quite understandable. But they didn’t want to see their father spend the rest of his life alone, so they eventually accepted the idea and invited Karen to Thanksgiving dinner.

I see great things happening in 2008 for the Young & the Restless: Victoria coming out of her coma, wedding bells for Neil, Devon finally getting a real girlfriend, Lily and Cain getting closer, and Sharon and Brad reconnecting.
