I have been waiting patiently for Jonathan’s return. Even though some may view Jonathan and Tammy as the wrong couple, you must admit that this storyline is one that made Guiding Light one of the best soaps in 2006. With Jonathan and baby Sara coming back, 2008 might top 2006 for Guiding Light.

A new Dusty Donovan?

I am not happy about the possibility of Grayson McCouch leaving the show. Since he took over the role of Dusty Donovan, he has given Dusty an edge and a mysterious look that has never been portrayed before. If you noticed, Dusty transformed from a light-hearted kid dating Lily Snyder to a complete bad boy. Dusty has had recent run-ins with the law, dating a woman nearly half his age, and now having an affair with a married woman. Grayson represented this character so well that the new Dusty has very big shoes to fill.

Nick Marone & Brooke Logan find their way back to each other(hopefully)

Brooke wanted Nick when he was involved with Bridgette. Conversely, Nick wanted Brooke when she was involved with Ridge. The ping-pong game these two are playing might come to an end next year. Since it’s confirmed that Jack is Brooke’s biological child, Nick and Brooke’s electricity will be stronger than ever. Taylor and Ridge will be left out in the cold, and Nick will have the family he has so desperately wanted with the woman he is still in love with.

Phyllis Newman & Jack Abbott reunite?

I believe I said in an earlier article that the foursome (Phyllis, Nick, Sharon, and Jack) would revert back to their original partners. Since Jack has been in trouble, Phyllis has been his shoulder to cry on. Jack cannot turn to Sharon because she is angry for Jack deceiving both her and Noah, who had such a hard time trusting him initially. The chemistry that Jack and Phyllis share has been stimulating compared to Jack’s relationship with Sharon, which seems manufactured and phony. Sharon even confided in Brad that the reason she continues to stay with Jack is because he is such a great Stepfather to Noah. Hey Sharon, what about the concept of love?

Will Victoria wake up? Will Victor & Nikki reunite? Will Brooke raise baby Jack? It looks like 2008 will be an exciting year in daytime television. Happy New Year and best wishes to everyone.
