Finding Freebies

Guest Author - Charisse Van Horn

You may have heard the saying, “Nothing in life is free,” but that simply isn’t true. When it comes to the wonders of the World Wide Web, there are tons of free offers available for everyone. However, before signing up, it is important to understand what is involved in the process of finding freebies online.

First, you should realize that when you request a freebie, you would need to give the company your email address as well as mailing address. Because many companies will also add you to their mailing list, you may find it best to obtain a separate email account for your freebies. You can select from a number of different providers such as Yahoo, AOL, or Hotmail and create a free email account. This will ensure that any emails related to your freebies are kept separate from your personal email account. It will also reduce any spam or junk mail that may be associated with the free offer. By setting your email account to initiate spam filters, you can easily monitor your emails associated with your freebies. You’ll also be surprised to discover that many of the companies that will add you to their mailing list will also notify you of additional freebies as they become available. So, you may find that some of your “junk” mail isn’t that bad after all. However, you will want to keep it separate and the best way to do that is through a designated email account.

Second, you must obey the rules. There are many different free offers available however many of them come with certain stipulations. Some freebies are only available to a certain area, age demographic, or qualified candidate. It is simply poor ethics to lie about your status to try to obtain a freebie. Sometimes, people can become addicted to freebies and they will try to hoard them. If a freebie is limited to one per family, respect those terms. I have heard of some people going as far as setting up several email addresses and using a PO Box to try to get additional freebies. There is no reason to go overboard. Companies are giving away countless products every day. There are plenty to go around and if you miss out on one, you’ll find that the next great freebie is right around the corner. By obeying the rules we ensure that companies will continue to provide freebies to their targeted demographic areas. After all, freebies are a very important marketing strategy that business uses to promote awareness.

Ok, now that you understand the basics let’s find those fantastic freebies!
