Glen Jacobs, better known as Kane, was born in Madrid, Spain in 1968. He attended college at Quincy University in Illinois where he played basketball before getting a basketball scholarship to attend Truman State University, which was then known as Northeast Missouri State University, where he set several records and he was an NCAA All-Star. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English.

He joined professional wrestling in 1992 and was trained by Ray Candy and Dean Malenko. He started out in the Missouri area as Angus King and then moved on to the USWA as the Christmas Tree Creature where he was a…wrestling Christmas tree. He also went by the name of Doomsday there. He also appeared in Smoky Mountain Wrestling as Unabomb and held the SMW tag team belts with Al Snow as his partner.
In 1995, he began his career in the WWE as Dr. Isaac Yankem, DDS. And was Jerry Lawler’s personal dentist and feuded with Bret Hart.

He stopped being the dentist in September of 1996 and came back in October of 1996 as the “fake” Diesel and teamed with a “fake” Razor Ramon. They were brought in by Jim Ross after the real Diesel and Razor left the WWE for the WCW. A year later he came back as the masked and seemingly disfigured Kane. His storyline as it turned out was that he was Paul Bearer’s son and the Undertaker’s half brother and was horribly burned and disfigured in fire at their home, which of course was a funeral home, and the fire was set by the Undertaker. They feuded and Kane cost the Undertaker his match at Bad Blood in the first ever Hell in a Cell match against then European champion Shawn Michaels. The Undertaker refused to wrestle Kane because he didn’t want to wrestle his own flesh and blood but that changed at the 1998 Royal Rumble when Kane interfered in the Undertaker’s World Title match against Shawn Michaels and after the match Kane locked the Undertaker in a casket and set it on fire. The two men spent the next few years feuding and teaming together and are now commonly known as “The Brothers of Destruction” when they team together.

Kane was eventually unmasked as a stipulation in a match against Triple H and has wrestled without it ever since. Kane has been in some dubious feuds in his career and one included Shane McMahon where Shane put him in a dumpster that was set on fire and returned to the ring a week later without a mark on him from the blazing inferno he was in. Another feud he was in was with his “alter-ego”, the masked Kane, who by the way is wrestling today as Festus in the WWE. One other “memorable” feud was against Matt Hardy in which Kane “married” Lita in order to protect Matt Hardy. She was pregnant with Kane’s baby and eventually “lost” the baby when Snitsky hit Kane from behind with a chair and he fell on Lita.

Kane has appeared on the television show Smallville and starred in his own movie where he played a sadistic killer in “See No Evil”. Kane has recently been wrestling on the ECW brand in the WWE.
