Good Bye Free Speech

Two weeks ago, I wrote a review of Brad Ross' Birthday Marketing program.
It was an honest review. I received several emails about this review, most of them agreeing with me and thanking me for enlightening others about the quality of this product. I posted quotes from the emails I received, both those criticizing Mr. Ross and those praising him.
Brad Ross had his attorney send a threatening letter demanding I remove the review of his product.
Although the review was an honest appraisal of his product, he felt it defamed him.
None of my statements were false or malicious, but in today's America, I guess we just can't express our opinion.
The responses to the article demonstrated that my readers want to be informed about magic products before they spend their money. The referrals on the sales pages for such items are always positive and often from friends and associates of the seller.
An honest review helps the reader to make a sound decision before investing their money. But, obviously Brad Ross does not want an honest, impartial review of his products available to the buying public.
I really do not think Mr. Ross would have any real case against me in court. I did not say anything untrue about his product and I actually complimented him as a performer. He has an outstanding resume. I even put a link to his products in the review. But, just the same, I have removed the articles.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God" (Matthew 5:9).
I cannot endorse Brad's product. You will have to take your chances and buy his product to find out for yourself. I am not saying his product is good or bad. I now have no opinion on the quality of his products.
I do however, recommend heartily Barry Mitchell's products. His The 10 Commandments of Selling Your Program is excellent and inexpensive. I also own Barry's book YOU CAN DO MAGIC WITH YOUR BUSINESS It is a terrific introduction to selling your show.
I would love to have your input on whether product reviews are helpful to you. Also, if you have purchased any marketing programs, I'd like your honest assessment of them. Which ones are helpful and which ones are not.
Thank you and God bless.
